While the regular host of Saturday early morning paddles on Lake Michigan is still licking his wounds from a recent beating on less hospitable waters, a diverse group of 8 eager boaters got together to see the last weekend of the summer to a good start.
Last but definitely not least we had Tom who was out for his first paddle with this group after joining just on Tuesday. Tom is a certified ACA open water coach and
could only hold himself back while we paddled indecisively from 63rd street beach to Calumet Harbor
Back on the beach at the 63rd street most of the group stayed for rolling
and bracing practice. Tom, again, was most
graciously offering his experience and knowledge to those who wanted to
learn. After today, Richard will be teaching next time. David was also spreading around
