Humberto Garcia was one of the key ingredients to the success of the 2009 Chicago Shoreline Marathon, assisting in variety of unsung ways. Among other things, he sacrificed what was likely to be a very successful finish as a racer to serve instead as a safety "sweep" who fished out people who capsized and guided off-course paddlers back on course. He also found time to take some pictures, samples of which are found below. If you would like to share your stories and/or images about the Shoreline Marathon please send them here.
